Ok, so by “yesterday” I mean when I was a kid…about 10 years ago, although to some 22 would still be a kid. How many of you have noticed that tv shows have changed SOOO much. I’m focusing about the shows for children. When I was a child we watched shows where girls didn’t wear any makeup, the most hair styling they had was bangs, and sex wasn’t anywhere NEAR the show…not even the parents were doing it. Take a look at this Party Of Five Promo Pic:  What can we compare this to? Hmmm…How About ABC’s Brothers and Sisters: Do you see the difference? Wheres The Love!? No one is even touching in that pic.  Thats not even that bad…lets take a look at channels geared towards kids…Then: Now:    Thats still not even that bad. Now that satellite has become popular, children have become exposed to a little show called Degrassi. Which, honestly, I dont mind, but I dont want my 11 year old sister watching it either:Degrassi shows kids like this doing drugs, having sex, being promiscuous in other ways, cutting themselves, having babies, contracting STD’s and so on….Im not saying this stuff isn’t out there in the real life, but I think we need to give parents time to talk to their kids before their pre-teens are exposed to it. I understand times change, and our kids change…and maybe theres nothing wrong with these shows. But I do think our kids are growing up too fast. When my sister was 10 her friends were wearing clothes from Holister meant for teenagers. They all had cell phones, they get laptops at 12 year old. And they are already addicted to starbucks. My point is, has anyone else noticed this!? Please Tell Me!!!!! Or….tell me no?
